FAQ

  • What is a Planetary Node?

A Planetary Node is a physical and digital time capsule, crafted with collective intention and designed to be opened in the future. It is a weaving of memory, wisdom, and artistic expression, meant to hold stories, knowledge, and artifacts across time.

Each node is unique—some are public community projects, others are personal or organizational archives, but all share the same purpose: to preserve something meaningful for the future.

  • How do Planetary Nodes work?

Each node follows a three-part process:

Reflection – What do we want to send forward? What wisdom, questions, or artifacts should remain?
Collaboration – The act of deciding what to include is part of the process itself—it reveals priorities, values, and what we hope will endure.
Sealing & Trusting the Future – The capsule is closed with intention and archived physically or digitally, forming part of a global network of living archives.

  • What goes inside a Planetary Node?

Each node is different, but some common elements include:
Letters to the Future – Personal, collective, or symbolic messages.
Art & Creative Expressions – Poetry, music, visual work, movement scores.
Ecological Markers – Seeds, soil samples, climate data, or regenerative knowledge.
Encrypted Digital Archives – Blockchain messages, video/audio recordings, or data that needs to be preserved across generations.

  • Who can create a Planetary Node?

Anyone who feels called to create a portal through time can create a node. This could be:

🌎 Communities & Movements – Weaving messages across generations.
🎭 Artists & Creators – Archiving creative works and cultural artifacts.
🏛 Organizations & Institutions – Capturing impact, knowledge, and deep-time reflections.
💫 Individuals – Leaving letters, personal reflections, and artistic time capsules.

Each node is tailor-made to reflect the people, place, and purpose behind it.

  • What happens when a capsule is opened?

When a capsule is opened, it becomes more than an object—it becomes a moment of connection across time. The act of retrieving its contents is an invitation to reflect on what has changed, what has endured, and what still needs tending.

Some capsules are designed to be opened in 10, 50, or 100 years—but all are meant to create a bridge between the past and the future.
